FMS is a charitable company limited by guarantee and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association.

The appointment of the Board of Trustees (Executive Committee) is governed by the Charity’s constitution. The Committee meets regularly to make decisions about the running of the Charity, supplemented by meetings of the ‘Corporate Group’ (the three officers and the two nationally elected trustees) which provides more in-depth and direct day-to-day support and specialist guidance to the Chief Executive.

The operational and delivery work of FMS is undertaken by one full-time and three part-time members of staff. Additional specialist support is bought in via a number of key freelance contracts (marketing/ training/ communications).
